Dual-Sport

I've always been drawn to motorcycles, whether they are of the street or dirt heritage, I enjoy riding motorcycles. My introduction to the motorcycle world was started on a Honda CR80 dirt bike. This little bike was a two-stroke motorcycle that provided some good times. From there I moved on to a 125 Kawasaki 125 Enduro which helped me to learn now to crash much better. I really wiped out on this bike, messed it up pretty good too. From there, I moved onto a Suzuki 450 street bike, and then onto a Honda CX650 street. The Honda CX650 street was a great bike that crossed the cruiser and the sport bike. This shaft drive bike did very well in the curves, as well as handling the straight and narrow highways; great bike. From there I took a hiatus from bikes and got into 4Wheeling for a while. After a few years in the 4Wheeling I decided that I wanted to get back into dirt-bikes. I found a Yamaha 2001 WR250F that was a great re-introduction back into the dirt-bike scene. I spent a few years on this bike and tried to tweak this bike for the best ride. After a while I moved up to a Fuel Injected 2010 Yamaha WR250R. This bike introduced me to the Fuel Injection of dirt bikes. I really liked the fact that when I did fall down, the bike would not flood. I could leave the bike on its side for a bit while I rested, and not worry about flooding the bike. When I did pick up the bike, it would start right up; very nice. While I had this bike, my wife decided that she wanted to get in on the bike scene. So, we picked up a Suzuki M109R2 to cruise the streets. She really enjoyed riding on the back of the bike as we cruised the highway or around town. And then... I took the WR250R to an event that was similar to a Dakar event here in the states. This was F - U - N. However, I quickly realized that the little 250 was under powered and just didn't have the legs necessary to cover great distances at speed. While it did do well, and probably could have done better with a better rider, I felt that I need a bike with more power. So.....I moved up to a KTM 500 EXC.

This bike is a Fuel Injected, has a really nice E-start button and a kick-start as a backup. This 500cc bike has lots of power on tap. I've taken it out a few times, and I must say that it is really impressive. I've made a few modifications to this bike already, and will hopefully be posting up what I've done soon.

stay tuned....
